Principles of Coaching
- The client is whole and resourceful: they have not come to be 'fixed' or ‘cured’ but have the ability to resolve their own situation.
- The Coach’s primary role is to liberate resourcefulness and provoke insight; not to give advice.
- Coaching addresses the whole person; past, present and future.
- The client sets the agenda.
- Coach and client are equal partners in the relationship.
- Coaching is about movement and change. It is intended and designed to bring out the best in already effective people.
- Coaching is confidential.
- People are capable of infinitely more than they currently believe.
- People do the best they can with the resources they believe they have.
